A Touch of History
A few years after the Anglo Boer War when tens of thousands died and the rest fled to find work at mines. Illiterate and in despair. A few wise came together and created the Reddingsdaadbond to help them through innovation and creating their own business.
The result in 1918: Sanlam, Naspers, Santam, Volkskas (now Absa), Uniewinkels (now partly Shopright/Checkers) and Avbob. Still with us after a hundred years and doing great things for our country.
